Chaitali Harshal Desai
PresidentChaitali is the principal lawyer and owner of CHD Law, she was called to the Bar of Ontario in January of 2009 and has been operating a private practice in the City of Mississauga since February 2010. Prior to starting her practice, she has worked in boutique law firms in Peel since 2003.
Chaitali’s practice primarily focuses in Family Law and she frequently appears before Ontario Court of Justice as well as Superior Court of Justice. In addition to Family Law she practices Real Estate Law, which includes completing residential transactions, business take overs and commercial property transactions.
Keyur Mahesh Shah

Saidaltaf Patel
DirectorSaidaltaf Patel is a practicing lawyer in the areas of immigration, criminal defense and Real Estate Law.
Prior to immigrating to Canada, he was a criminal defense lawyer in India. After his immigration, Saidaltaf joined the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (CSIS) to help immigrants have a smoother experience by overseeing their journey into Canada. He worked as an immigration consultant for several years while pursuing his passion for the law and completing his equivalency as a lawyer in Ontario. Being an immigrant to this country himself, Saidaltaf identified his purpose is to help eliminate any barriers for new immigrants wanting to enter Canada.
In 2007, Saidaltaf was called to the bar in Ontario, Canada and he started partnership firm Patel & Chhina LLP.

She also holds Masters in Business Law from National Law School of India University, Bangalore, post which she obtained her Masters in Professional Accounting from Federation University, Melbourne, Australia in 2016. Her education accolades also include Certification in Cyber Law from Asian School of Cyber Laws and is a member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. Khyati had the honour to work with prestigious international law firm while in Mumbai and have collaborated with smartest legal minds across the globe.
Her practical experience in Canada includes appearing before Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court and Landlord Tenants Board. Khyati also had the privilege to finish her Articles of Clerkship with a renowned boutique law firm in Vaughan, Ontario. She was called to the Ontario Bar in January 2021 and is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario.
Avni Shah

Nirav Upendra Bhatt
Vice PresidentNirav is the co-founder of Aastha Lawyers. Prior to starting his own practice, Nirav has worked with small and a mid-sized firms to a large Bay Street law firm in downtown Toronto. Nirav was also featured in University of Toronto’s 2011 edition in Nexus Magazine as part of immigrant lawyer success story. Nirav’s skill and experience ensure that he delivers nuanced advice and creative solutions to help meet with his client’s requirements and expectations. Nirav’s goals when assisting his clients is to guide them towards best possible resolution in a timely and cost effective manner.
Nirav holds a Certificate in International Arbitration Law from McGill University School of Law, Montreal and holds LL.M. (Masters in Law) degree from Osgoode Hall Law School of York University. Nirav is also a licensed lawyer in India. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Nirav was also heralded as a Research Scholar while pursuing his LL.M., by his professor who is a Rhodes Scholar, and a senior faculty at Oxford. Nirav was also an Editor for IPilogue while at Osgoode Hall Law School of York University. While pursuing law in India, Nirav has represented his university in USA for International Moot Court Competition.
As an avid sports enthusiast, Nirav maintains an active lifestyle outside of office. He can be seen exploring new places and cuisine as well as enjoying sports like cricket and table tennis. Nirav was crowned champion in table tennis during his university days.
Nirav is a member of the South Asian Bar Association (SABA), Toronto wherein he has also served as a former Director, member of Canadian Bar Association (CBA) and the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) among others.
Nirav has been acknowledged for his contributions towards programs and events highlighting Indian culture in Canada. Nirav has also contributed for charities and various community events and been part of the Golf Tournaments wherein proceeds have been given to Chariable Foundations.

Aesha Preyas Patel
DirectorBorn in Gujarat, India, Aesha Patel immigrated to Canada with her parents in 2005. Aesha completed her undergraduate in Criminology and Socio-Legal Studies from the University of Toronto. There, she learned to challenge social and legal conventions that normalize discrimination and developed a keen interest in addressing systemic issues within the justice system. Aesha subsequently pursued her Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor. She was called to the bar in 2021.
Prior to joining the Cohen Highley, Aesha completed her articles and was an associate at a criminal defence firm in Toronto. Her current areas of practice include real estate law as well as wills and estate law. Aesha is passionate about advocating for women’s rights. As a woman of colour, and a daughter to immigrant parents, Aesha is well aware of the struggles Indian-Canadians face in their day-to-day lives. She strives to build meaningful connections in the community through which she is able to help individuals overcome racial injustices, denormalize subtle, yet effective, means of oppression, and aspires to promote female empowerment.
